SSC-CGL Examinations is conducted in four Tiers. The details of Selection Process of CGL Exam is provided below. The final selection of the candidates is based on the overall performance in the first three Tier of Examination. However, Tier-4 is qualifying in nature.

  • Tier-1: Computer based written exam in MCQ Format.
  • Tier-2: Computer based written exam in MCQ Format.
  • Tier-3: Written exam (Descriptive test/ Essay Writing.
  • Tier-4 : Computer proficiency test(CPT) Data entry test where ever, applicable and document verification.

This section consists of 50 marks in the Tier-1 examination. The general intelligence section will consume less time and can be attempted quickly with the full accuracy. Topics which asked frequently in this section are, analog, word arrangement, odd man out, alphanumeric series, Venn diagrams, coding- decoding, miscellaneous. As per the previous year papers of general intelligence and reasoning one can easily figure out the commonly asked questions for this section and focus more on their preparation to score better.

The English language section is the most easiest among all the sections. This section consists of 50 marks in the Tier-1. Candidates need to read the English newspaper daily in order to score good marks in English. It will help the candidate to be aware of the daily current affairs and simultaneously will help improve vocabulary and the reading speed.

General Awareness subject is very tough in the SSC CGL.  Candidates need to keep full focus on the important notes rather than the entire subject. This is the most high scoring and the time saving section of SSC CGL. General awareness section will include the questions related to the static general knowledge and science. In the science section, the questions can be asked from physics, chemistry, biology and from the computer section. How to Prepare for SSC CGL

  1. If you find any particular question difficult than make sure that you will not waste your time in trying to solve that question, instead of that you should move to the next question and if you have the time then come to that question.
  2. One thing is very important to every candidate to clear the sectional cut-off of each section and also the overall cut-off.
  3. In the exams, if you find any particular section little bit challenging then try to attempt the number of questions that are required to clear the sectional cut-off of that section.
  4. Sometimes, questions might be very tricky. we advise you to read the questions very carefully before answering them.
